On Friday, Nov. 18, the University of Georgia Public Service and Outreach hosted its second annual Day of Service. This year’s PSO Day of Service featured a school supply drive to assist elementary school children. The supply drive saw 100% participation from Archway Partnership faculty and staff. The Archway Partnership participated by collecting school supplies in six communities with Archway ties, as well as contributing locally to the Athens-based collection effort. Collection bins were set up in each community and citizens were encouraged to drop off supplies during the designated times. With the help of local partners, Archway Professionals throughout Georgia collected nearly 800 school supplies. All collected items will go directly to schools and clubs in Athens and Archway Partnership communities.
Local partners include:
From Candler County – Communities in Schools
From Colquitt County – Extension Office, 4-H, Department of Public Health and UGA College of Public Health
From Grady County – Archway Partnership Executive Committee
From Pulaski County – Pulaski County Youth Leadership Academy
From Spalding County – Leadership Griffin+Spalding
From Washington County – Archway Partnership Executive Committee
The Archway Partnership is a unit of the University of Georgia’s Public Service and Outreach. The Archway Partnership addresses self-identified needs in eight communities across Georgia, connecting local leaders with university resources to enhance and develop these communities.
