Melissa Lu was recently honored for her work with the Dalton-Whitfield Archway Partnership.
The Dalton-Whitfield Archway Partnership is a community and economic development program administered and supported by the University of Georgia. Archway was launched in our community on Aug. 31, 2009 and Melissa was hired Nov. 16, 2009.
“There have been numerous accomplishments that have been made as a result of being an Archway community and we have been the recipient of valuable higher education resources as well. Through her efforts, she has sparked many people to get involved in projects and volunteer for new projects that have already resulted in accomplishments that we are all proud of. Melissa Lu has worked tirelessly for Archway and this community and the accomplishments and resources are a result of her efforts and energy. Everything she did for Archway, she did with passion and vision for moving our community forward. We want to recognize her today with a small token of our appreciation and to let her know that she is already missed. We wish her well and we know that she will always be a part of Archway especially when we see the accomplishments that have been made,” said Lynn Laughter, Chairman of the Archway Executive Committee.
