Charity Tracker IWG July 2016

The Griffin-Spalding Archway Partnership Charity Tracker Issue Work Group last met on July 19, 2016.  The group participated in a facilitated planning session to develop a checkpoint system using Charity Tracker for member nonprofit organizations to help serve clients in need, while ensuring clients do not receive duplicate Christmas assistance. Charity Tracker is described by its website as a “web application for shared case management used to gather and report statistical data for resource development, strategic planning, measuring outcomes, reducing duplication and disaster relief.”

Chuck Copeland, Griffin-Spalding Archway Co-Chair and Charity Tracker Issue Work Group member stated, “Spalding Countians have demonstrated for years an unbelievably large heart for offering assistance to those in need. Charity, however, without accountability and a clear goal in mind can breed a dependency that can be more damaging in the long run than the actual need being addressed. The Charity Tracker platform will allow us to gain a better understanding of the persons being served. By taking a holistic look at the various Christmas benevolence programs in our community we hope to find a model which meets the needs of the recipients while preserving dignity and promoting accountability.”
