Abby Burns is currently in her second year of the dual-degree Masters in Social Work/Masters in Public Health program at UGA with concentrations in Clinical Social Work and Health Promotion and Behavior. Originally from Issaquah, Washington, she received her B.A. in Neuroscience from Dartmouth College in 2013. This is her first year with Archway, after having worked as a graduate assistant in the College of Public Health. She is hoping to gain experience in community development that will integrate and expand upon the social work and public health competencies that she is currently learning in her post-grad career. She is also excited to work in an interdisciplinary setting alongside peers from a wide variety of graduate programs across UGA. Her future career plans involve positions in a variety of settings, but she hopes to find a position that incorporates direct social work practice as well as research.
