Hart Projects
Education:
- Connection with College of Education deans and faculty
- Placement of student teachers/interns for Fall
- Faculty member compiling comparison data regarding expenditures per student
- Admissions process & application enhancement strategies
- Exploring USDA grant/funding options for agricultural academy
- Landscape architecture student to do conceptual designs for agriculture academy project
- Graduate student assistance:
- Grant research and writing
- Research SAT enhancement initiatives
Leadership Development:
- Partnering with Chamber of Commerce to revitalize Leadership Hart program
- Archway committee member Jason Acosta of GA Power is coordinating the group
- Fanning Institute faculty member facilitated initial meeting
- Group is applying for GA Rural Development Council Community Leadership Initiative seed grant
Tourism:
- Partnering with Chamber of Commerce’s tourism taskforce to promote Hart County and Lake Hartwell
- Partnering with Historical Society for walking tour & historical tourism projects
- Partnering with Hart County Community Theatre
- Spring assistance:
- Journalism – Hart County tourism-related projects
- Non-Profit Management: Tourism-related grant-writing assistance
- Summer interns:
- Hart County tourism (MPA)
- Megaramp project (MFR)
Planning and Visioning:
- Spring UGA landscape architecture class weekend design charrette
- Summer landscape architecture interns will perform design work in various locations throughout Hartwell and Hart County:
- Entryways to community
- Gateway Industrial Park phases I & II
- Downtown Hartwell: City Hall, landscaping, courthouse
- County parks/greenspace
