The Archway Partnership held its third annual summit at the UGA Center for Continuing Education & Hotel in February bringing representatives from nine current and former Archway communities together in Athens to share success stories, explore areas of collaboration and hear from university experts.

Participants took part in workshops, led by Archway Partnership faculty and staff, that focused on workforce development, leadership development, innovative health services delivery, and community image and branding.

“Developing the next generation of leaders is critical for any community to ensure a vibrant future,” said Archway Operations Coordinator Michelle Elliott, who moderated a session on leadership development.

Jeff Tarver gave the keynote speech at the summit’s concluding luncheon. He is the founder of L.I.F.E. (Leading and Inspiring through Fellowship and Education) League, a Pulaski County nonprofit for youth that incorporates life skills instruction with sports and other activities.

“When you give cheerfully,” Tarver said, “it will always come back to you.”
