Sam Perren was appointed Operations Coordinator in the Archway Partnership state office in January 2023. Sam has been with Archway since 2017 and has served as the Archway Professional in Pulaski, Colquitt and McDuffie counties.  He heads up Archway’s evaluation and grant-writing teams, coordinates the UGA Rural Engagement Workshop for Academic Faculty, and manages Archway’s efforts for Burke, Colquitt and McDuffie counties in addition to a number of liaison roles with UGA schools and colleges.

Before joining Archway, he worked with the Middle Georgia Regional Commission, where he focused on local government assistance projects, including planning, grant writing, project management, ordinance and policy development, and economic development.

Sam is a graduate of the Vivian H. Fisher Public Service and Outreach Leadership Academy, the Georgia Academy for Economic Development, the Pulaski Tomorrow Adult Leadership Program, and the Public Service and Outreach Facilitation Academy. He is currently serving on the University Council.

Sam earned a bachelor’s degree in history and a Master of Public Administration from UGA, where he is now a PhD candidate in the Department of Public Administration and Policy. In his undergraduate years he was a member of the Redcoat Marching Band. A native of Dallas, Georgia, he now resides in Athens.
