Sharon Liggett joined the UGA faculty and the Archway Partnership in January 2012 and currently serves as a coordinator of operations. She oversees Archway operations in Grady and Sumter counties, working closely with public service units, colleges, and schools at UGA and other higher education institutions.

Sharon comes to Archway with a well-established career in the public sector through government and nonprofit arenas. She has consulted on rural tourism, community redevelopment and sustainable communities initiatives. Prior to consulting, she was president and CEO of the Tallahassee Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. Additionally, Sharon has years of experience with local, regional, state and federal government. She served on the staff of two Florida governors, was deputy chief of staff for both U.S. Senator Bob Graham and U.S. Rep. Jane Harman, as well as special advisor to the president and advisor to the special envoy for the Americas in the White House.

In addition to government, she brings an education portfolio to the Archway Partnership through her work with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.

Over the years, she has served on numerous community boards of directors and governmental committees. Sharon earned her bachelor of arts in international relations from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida and a Master of Public Administration from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.
